As a key member of the JFS executive leadership team, she is responsible for developing the strategy behind the agency’s growing fundraising and communications programs and for overseeing the implementation of those strategies. Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) will honor Gay Curtiss-Lusher and Sam Zaitz at The Faces of JFS 2017 Winter Soirée, on Thursday, December 14, 6:00 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Denver, 1750 Welton Street. This inaugural fundraiser will celebrate the diversity of JFS clients while benefiting the life-transformative work of the agency. Community members are invited to pay tribute to Gay Curtiss-Lusher, who will receive the Joyce and Kal Zeff Humanitarian Award, and Sam Zaitz, who will be honored with the inaugural Yana Vishnitsky Leadership Award.

Boulder JFS Presents Reel Hope Boulder: Behind the Screen with Bruce Vilanch

Boulder Jewish Family Service (JFS) will host its fifth annual fundraiser, “Reel Hope Boulder” on Saturday, October 14 at the Boulder JCC, 6007 Oreg Avenue. Guests will enjoy an entertaining evening with award-winning writer, comedian, songwriter, and actor Bruce Vilanch. Ron Bostwick, a freelance event producer and announcer, will interview Vilanch to showcase a “behind-the-screen” account of Bruce’s storied decades-long career. Bostwick has interviewed numerous celebrities at the Boulder International Film Festival, as well as featured speakers at three Reel Hope Boulder events.

Jewish Family Service Appoints Shepard Nevel as President & CEO

Shepard Nevel was selected as Jewish Family Service of Colorado’s (JFS) new president and CEO, succeeding Yana Vishnitsky, who is retiring after serving in the role for the past 16 years. JFS’s Board Search Committee conducted a wide-ranging national search for the agency’s new leader and came to a unanimous choice. Nevel is currently the president and CEO of LiveWell Colorado, where he has strengthened core functions, diversified funding and other revenue opportunities, and refocused the mission on underserved populations and the social determinants of health. He will join JFS on December 5.

Jewish Family Service to Honor Retiring President & CEO Yana Vishnitsky at Gala Fundraiser on December 10

Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) will honor its president and CEO, Yana Vishnitsky at “Yana! A Farewell Celebration” on Saturday, December 10, 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. The event will pay tribute to Vishnitsky’s immeasurable contributions to JFS over the last 38 years and commemorate her retirement. The gala celebration will include cocktails, entertainment, dinner, and dancing and will take the place of the agency’s annual winter fundraiser, “Real Hope,” this year.

Boulder Jewish Family Service (JFS) will host its fourth annual fundraiser, “Reel Hope Boulder” on Sunday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m. (sponsor reception at 5:30 p.m.) at the new Boulder JCC, 6007 Oreg Avenue in Boulder. Guests will enjoy a fun, enlightening evening with award-winning screenwriter Nicole Perlman, who is recognized for co-writing the 2014 blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy, which won both the Nebula Award and the Hugo Award. Ron Bostwick, a freelance event producer and announcer, will interview Perlman to showcase behind-the-scenes insights into the world of writing for film. Bostwick has interviewed numerous celebrities at the Boulder International Film Festival, as well as featured speakers at the past three Reel Hope Boulder events.
